About Me

I first fell in love with music as a kid growing up on Bainbridge Island, Washington, soon after my parents introduced me to The Beatles. From there, I dove headfirst into all things rock and roll. I taught myself guitar, formed a band, started writing songs, and even decided to major in music in college. After studying trumpet and classical composition and getting my degree, I took the next logical step and…headed to Hong Kong to teach English. Something about being 22 and seeking adventure I suppose?

Several years after moving to Hong Kong, I was hired to play classic covers twice a week in a hotel lounge. This is where I began using the loop pedal that’s since become a staple of my performances.

In 2022, after 11 years abroad, I returned to the States. Tucson, Arizona was the destination, as my parents had recently moved there and proximity was important after so many years far away. Not long after starting this new chapter, I began to notice that Tucson has quite a music scene, so I started sniffing around for gigs. Haven’t looked back since!

Even after many years living in Asia and the Southwest, the Pacific Northwest will always be where my roots are. I was lucky enough to record original songs with childhood friends on Bainbridge Island in the summers of 2024 and 2025. The 2024 sessions became Through the Sound, which is available on all major platforms (see “Recordings” tab above).

I live with my wife Sharman, son Gabe and our two cats, Robbie and Jean. Aside from music, I love playing softball, hiking, travelling and just trying to find the positive in this messy world. Of all my many hopes and dreams, the Seattle Mariners winning the World Series is pretty dang high on the list.
